Urban Legend BBQ & Catering has been feeding Southern Illinois since 2022. Under new ownership since April 2026, the pit hasn't changed—real hardwood smoke, no shortcuts, no gas burners, no liquid smoke. Same commitment, same craft.
Our catering is the biggest reason people in Herrin and the surrounding communities keep coming back to us for events. We bring a full pit-smoked spread to private parties, corporate cookouts, and community gatherings—no reheated trays, no commercial-bottled sauce. Every catering order comes off the same smoker that feeds our dine-in customers.
Our BBQ sauces are made in-house. You won't find them on a shelf anywhere in Southern Illinois. They're built to match what's coming off the smoker—and Cambria and Crainville regulars have been taking them home by the bottle.
We're open Thursday through Sunday. Popular cuts—brisket especially—sell out before close most weekends. If you want a specific cut or you're planning a catering order, call ahead. We'd rather tell you what's available than have you show up and miss it.

We smoke everything fresh each day and don't hold product overnight. Once a cut is gone, it's gone for that day. Popular items like brisket and baby back ribs regularly run out before close, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. Arriving before 2 PM gives you the best chance at a full selection.
Are Urban Legend BBQ's BBQ sauces available to take home?
Yes. Our house-made BBQ sauces are crafted in-house and available for purchase at the counter. They are not sold anywhere else in Southern Illinois. Catering clients can also include extra sauce bottles in their order — just mention it when you call to book.
